Sadam Wahidi is an award-winning filmmaker whose career began at the age of nine as an actor and announcer for BBC Radio AEP's children’s program in Kabul. A prodigy of the craft, he directed his first 34-minute experimental film at just 14. Throughout his early education, he remained a fixture in the industry, appearing in numerous television commercials, two feature films, and two television series.

In 2014, Sadam founded Rumi Films Production, an independent house through which he wrote and directed a series of acclaimed shorts: You Are Not American (2015), Mary Mother (2016), and The Luck Bird (2017). His work has been featured in over 100 international film festivals including prestigious Academy Award-qualifying events and has garnered 27 international awards to date.

A 2017 alumnus of the Asian Film Academy (South Korea) and holds professional expertise as an electrical engineer. A true global citizen, Sadam is fluent in six languages, including Dari (Farsi), Pashto, Hindi, English, and Russian , with a working knowledge of French and Spanish.
